Online workshop ‘Memory in Digital Spaces’
As part of the AIWG research group ‘Islam and Digitality’, the English-language online workshop ‘Memory in Digital Spaces’ will take place from 5 to 7 November. The group will discuss excerpts from their research on history as part of identity construction of Muslims in digital spaces, the aesthetic dimension of corresponding representations, and the role of prophetic traditions in this context. Particularly noteworthy are the keynotes by Prof. Dr. Christian Wiese, Goethe University Frankfurt, and Prof. Dr. Andrew Hoskins, University of Edinburgh. Prof. Wiese will speak on Wednesday, 5 November at 5 p.m. on Jewish Post-Holocaust Philosophies: Challenges for a Jewish-Christian Discourse on Memory. Prof. Hoskins‘ lecture on Thursday, 6 November, also at 5 p.m., is entitled Forgetting in the Digital and AI Era. The workshop’s intended audience has an academic interest in the subject ‘religion and memory,’ amongst those especially students. Access to the Zoom room is possible via the QR code on the flyer. On a computer, the code in the PDF file can be clicked on for direct dial-in. Registration is not required.
